These are Antique red and white Venetian Skunk Glass Beads. They are a lovely bright red color with white dots. These beads are 12mm rounds with large 3-4mm beading holes. Created using the wound, or drawn glass production method. These beads appear on sample cards from the Picard Museum and Conterie. Skunk Beads represent one of the earliest forms of 'lampwork', a process which involves the addition of small glass globules to a set surface, giving the 3-D raised effect. Beads are handmade, no bead is identical. Good used condition, consistent with age and use. Some loss of decoration.
